Boo At The Zoo Returns In 2022 With Plenty Family Halloween Fun

Boo at the Zoo, the annual tradition, returns to delight families this weekend, October 22 and 23, 2022.

Halloween lands on a Monday this year and if you want to get the most out of the holiday, then head out this weekend with the kiddos for some spooky fun at Boo at the Zoo hosted by the El Paso Zoo.

The El Paso Zoo and Botanical Gardens return with El Paso's "Wildest Trick-or-Treat" in town—Boo at the Zoo providing a safe environment for families this Halloween season. And, of course, guests are encouraged to wear their costumes and enjoy Trick-or-Treat candy stations sponsored by Raising Cane's as well as some fun entertainment.

Activities

Enjoy a creepy crawly glow-in-the-dark bug room in the El Paso Water Discovery Education Center classroom and learn about the Zoo's insect animal ambassadors. Attendees can also watch zoo animals enjoy special Halloween enrichment treats, including pumpkins and piñatas.

The day will feature face painting, train and carousel rides, and 12 free candy stations.

Boo at the Zoo will offer certified sustainable palm oil candy and palm oil-free candy at each candy station to bring awareness to wildlife habitat destruction worldwide.

Palm Oil, an ingredient often found in at least 4 of 10 household products, doubles its use every ten years. The palm oil produced from palm oil plantations is cutting down critical wildlife habitats to expand operations, mainly in Malaysia and Indonesia. More than 85 percent of all palm oil globally produced and exported is from these countries, causing deforestation, habitat loss, climate change, animal cruelty, and human rights abuses.

Parking:

El Paso Zoo parking is limited and free. Additional parking will be available across the street at the El Paso County Coliseum for $5.
