Last week, Socorro High School was put on lockdown after a student reported a possible weapon on campus.

The school was placed on lockdown for about an hour on Friday but a search of the campus didn’t turn up any weapons. After the lockdown, other students said the student who had initially reported the weapon was also making threats during a class transition.

A letter was sent home to the district’s parents saying SISD is working to make sure that anyone who makes those types of threats are identified and arrested, and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

No weapon was found on Friday and the school was taken off lockdown.
