St. Anthony’s in El Paso Announces Dates for 60th Anniversary Bazaar

One of the tastiest most anticipated annual events in the Sun City is almost upon us. St. Anthony’s Seminary has set the dates for the 2023 St. Anthony’s Bazaar in central El Paso.

The Order of Friars recently announced they will be hosting one of our city's most anticipated annual kermeses on the seminary grounds over the Labor Day weekend.

60th Anniversary

Started in 1963 as a way to raise money to pay the utilities for the seminary and to support the theological studies of Franciscan friars, the annual St. Anthony's Bazaar has become both a family and Labor Day tradition for many El Pasoans.

This will be 60th year the Franciscan seminary holds the beloved fundraiser. The annual bazaar is still how the religious order of friars makes most of the money to pay its bills and continue its teachings throughout the year.

Labor Day Weekend: Cakewalks, Loteria, and Gorditas

From Saturday, September 2, through Monday, September 4, the seminary grounds at 4601 Hastings in central El Paso will host cake walks, carnival-style games, Loteria, live entertainment, and booths selling the locally famous gorditas and enchiladas El Pasoans hold in such high esteem.

The bazaar will take place from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. each day.

If you've never been, I can assure you that parking in and around the neighborhood the seminary is located in will be at a premium and you might have to walk a few blocks, and the line for gorditas will be long but it's part of the experience and oh so worth it.
