From the return of a legendary kermes to an electronic dance music festival, which hasn't happened in El Paso in several years, the unofficial end of summer will bring the Borderland a handful of outdoor festivals that offer something for everyone.

Here's a look at what there is to do festival-style in El Paso and Southern New Mexico over the Labor Day weekend.

It’s been four years since electronic dance music lovers have had a festival to call their own. But the glow paint and LED foam stick dry spell ends this year.

Ascarate Park will play host to Sonder 2022 Saturday, September 3. Billed as “El Paso's EDM & Urban Music Celebration,” the one-day EDM beat bash will feature local and nationally known DJs playing tasty beats on their laptops, a diverse group of live music acts, and numerous food and drink vendors.

Some of the acts going hard this year will be Grammy award-winning rapper Lupe Fiasco, DJ Dainjazone, Sak Noel, and “La Toxica” herself, Mariah Angeliq, who fuses Reggaetón, R&B, and Latin trap in her music.

Check out the website for ticket info. And don’t forget to save a few bucks for glow bracelets.

Sip, swirl and taste Labor Day away at the Harvest Wine Festival in Las Cruces.

The Land of Enchantment is celebrating its fall grape harvest with the aptly-named Harvest Wine Festival, where you can taste the fruits of their labor -- literally and figuratively.

The Jesus Juice event takes place at the Southern New Mexico State Fairgrounds September 3-5 and highlights “New Mexico’s best wineries, exceptional food trucks, talented artisans, and award-winning musicians.” Learn more about Living la Viva Vino at the Harvest Wine Festival website.

If you're up for a longer road trip, "the Chile Capital of the World" is paying homage to its world-famous crop in Hatch, New Mexico.

Say goodbye to summer with chile and ristras on Saturday and Sunday, September 3 and 4.

Like the last year’s version, the 2022 festival will take place in Hatch and not at its former outside of town location. Keeping it in-town means you can hit up the local shops and restaurants as well as partake in the traditional vendors and events such as the chile eating contest, parade, live entertainment, and more.
