Socorro ISD to Resume Pick-Up Meal Service During Extended Intersession
The recent decision to extend Fall Intersession through October 23 will not result in a continued halt of meal service at the Socorro Independent School District. SISD announced it will resume free meal distribution Monday, Oct. 19.
According to a post on the district website, breakfast and lunch will be available to all children up to age 18 from 7 to 11 a.m. Monday through Friday. A Saturday meal will be provided at the Friday pick-up. Both can be picked up at the same time, and will be distributed via a socially distanced drive-through/walk-up procedure.
If parents have their children with them when they pick up meals, no documentation is required. But if the child or children are not present to receive the meals, parents or guardians must present one of the following documents for verification:
• Student ID cards
• Individual student report cards
• Birth certificate for children not in school
• Official letter/email/electronic school application from school listing children enrolled
• Attendance record from parent portal of school website, printed or electronic, that includes the child's name
