Ronald McDonald Gets Restored Thanks To El Paso Artist and Body Shop
The life-size statue of Ronald McDonald at the Ronald McDonald Charities of El Paso has been restored, thanks to El Paso artist Victor Casas and Pronto Body Shop.
Ronald McDonald’s image is one of the most recognizable corporate symbols ever created and also happens to represent the Ronald McDonald House Charities here in El Paso and nationwide. For decades, the nonprofit organization is the only organization that has been known to support families with sick children in their time of need in El Paso.
After years of sun and weather wear, the life-size Ronald McDonald statue had been in much need of repair. The iconic statue had a broken leg as of late, and its lackluster shine had worn down due to the years of multiple layers of paint.
To bring the statue back to life, the Ronald McDonald House Charities of El Paso teamed up with Pronto Body Shop and local artist Victor 'Masks' Casas for the restoration.
Pronto Body Shop is a family-owned auto body shop in El Paso, TX, while Victor 'Masks' Casas is a local borderland artist who is best known for his street art and murals.
The Pronto Body Shop staff worked extensively to remove the old paint and restore the statue while the final touches and detail work was all thanks to artist Casas.
Last week, the newly revived Ronald McDonald statue was delivered back home to the Ronald McDonald House Charities, where it once again shines on as a beacon of hope for families in the region.
The Ronald McDonald House Charities of El Paso is a non-profit organization that provides temporary lodging and support services for thousands of families whose children are receiving medical attention.
