Rolling Blackouts Could Come Rolling Back To El Paso

In February, El Paso became very, very familiar with the term rolling blackouts, when Mother Nature decided to blast us with some wickedly cold temperatures.  Well, Mama is mad again, and this time, she using fire to show us we best stop messing with Mother Nature!

KVIA is reporting that the wildfire in Arizona could threaten 40% of El Paso Electric's generating capacity.  40%!  That is huge, and it could mean that this time when the lights go out, we won't be in danger of freezing to death, we'll be finding out what it feels like to be a chicken roasting in an oven!  I'll keep an eye on the story and keep you updated about the possibility of summer rolling blackouts.
