Report – Jason Witten to Retire and Join MNF as Analyst

One of the greatest players ever to wear the star is reportedly ready to hang up his cleats and join the broadcast booth. Chris Mortensen reported that Cowboys tight end Jason Witten will meet with Jerry Jones and plans to retire after 15 years in the NFL.

Witten is fourth in NFL history with 1,152 career receptions and he is Dallas' all-time leader in receiving yards with 12,448. His 68 career touchdowns is third in franchise history. It is not a surprise that Witten is making the jump to television as an analyst. His longtime quarterback Tony Romo did the same thing last year and he quickly became one of the most popular lead analysts in the game for CBS and the NFL Network. The Cowboys future Hall of Fame tight end would join Monday Night Football and ESPN, which has overhauled its team this offseason. Sean McDonough was replaced by Joe Tessitore and Witten would step into John Gruden's spot with the coach now back in Oakland.
