Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Score Huge Pay Raise

Alright, so it is a proven fact that I am in fact NOT a Dallas Cowboys fan BUT when it comes to the ladies behind the cheerleading team– YES I AM A FAN of them! Especially after watching the Netflix Series America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and seeing how much work they put into everything they do!

Well, it turns out the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders have more than high kicks to celebrate because word on the street (internet) is that they’ve got high paychecks now, too. Yassss!!

Right as the squad’s Netflix series America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders dropped, The New York Times reported the iconic 36-member team scored a massive raise. How massive? A 400% jump. Yup, you read that right. From $15 an hour to $75. 

How Did America’s Sweethearts Get That 400% Raise?

Jada McLean, a five-year DCC vet, spoke to media outlets and said she used to make $15/hr and $500 per appearance. Meanwhile, she was juggling multiple side jobs just to afford those Lucchese boots. But when contract renewal season came around, she and other vets weren’t afraid to push back.

“We were all struggling financially,” McLean said. “And I’m kind of over it.”

So, what did they do? They had walkouts, tough conversations, and did whatever else was needed for team managers to take them seriously! Alongside teammates like Megan McElaney and Amanda Howard, they demanded respect and they sure got it.

“I get emotional knowing I was part of that,” fifth-year dancer Armani Latimer shared. “Even if I don’t benefit, I love that I made change for the girls coming up behind me.”

Some people might question why these ladies demanded a raise, and honestly, you just have to watch the Netflix show to understand why that raise was so long overdue!

These ladies are not just Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. All of them have multiple jobs, some are still in college or getting their masters, and all of them are juggling more than one task at a time just to survive financially and to still have a social life.

These ladies wake up early for their day jobs, inhale whatever dinner they can, and head to practice. And it is just so great to see that now their pay finally matches the iconic status they bring to the field every Sunday.

So again, I may not be a Dallas Cowboys fan, but the ladies behind the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleading Team have my respect and they are all proof that Mija, YES YOU CAN!
