Last night, El Pasoan Chris Hanna showcased his new 94-minute documentary "Now or Never: A Tony Romo Story" in Burlington, Wisconsin. The film was screened at The Plaza Theater in downtown Burlington in front of Romo, family, friends, and former high school coaches and teammates. It ended a day that included the former Dallas Cowboys star returning to his hometown for his annual kids football camp.

More than 200 kids from 3rd through 5th grade arrived at Burlington High School for the two hour skills camp. Romo arrived with two of his three sons and he met with the local media prior to the camp. Questions ranged from the new documentary to his thoughts on Aaron Rodgers and the Dallas Cowboys. The local legend was also asked about the possibility of coming out of retirement to return to the NFL. The CBS football analyst quickly dismissed any return to playing and told the media he was happy with his new career and being around his family more.

Prior to the screening of "Now or Never", Romo and Hanna joined SportsTalk to begin the final hour of the show from the lobby of the Plaza Theater. The 39-year old talked about his admiration for Hanna and how proud he was with the documentary focusing on his life growing up in Burlington. The film takes a look at Romo's early days playing soccer, basketball, and golf, then transitioning to football for the first time in high school. It chronicles his days playing football at Eastern Illinois and later his career with the Cowboys.

Unlike a football life, "Now or never" starts and ends with Burlington and concentrates on Romo's relationship with the small Wisconsin town. It also features some terrific interviews with his grandparents, who met in Wisconsin after both moved to the Midwest from Mexico. The Spanish scenes with his grandparents will be a highlight for El Pasoans, when "Now or Never" makes its Plaza Classic Film Festival debut on Sunday, August 4th at 3:30pm. The documentary is a terrific story that any sports fan will enjoy.

This trip for me would not have been possible without the support of show sponsor Longhorn Distributing. The company is owned by Loren Hodges and they specialize in cleaning equipment and chemicals as well as detail supplies for vehicles. Loren assisted me the entire way and enjoyed his first ever trip to Wisconsin and the opportunity to meet Tony Romo.
