The El Paso Museum of Art invites the public for an “Evening Salon” on Thursday, July 14, 2016.

In France, the' salon' was the center of intellectual and social exchange and on Thursday, July 14 everyone is invited to join the festivities including a special performance by the El Paso Society for Musicians of the future. Young musicians will also be recognized through EPSMF's Competition for Young Musicians awards. The awards support the continued growth of the arts and the development of new young masters.

The evening will feature French and American fine art and music highlighting the ongoing exhibit Intimate Figures: French and American Prints from the Goodman Gift. This new collection includes artwork from the 19th to 20th century with artists such as American Mary Cassatt and Frenchman Henri Matisse, French Impressionists Edgar Degas, Camille Pissarro, and Jean-Louis Forain, American social realists Barbara Latham, Marion Greenwood, John Sloan, and Fritz Eichenberg, and other artists. The free exhibition at the El Paso Museum of Art is open to the public through October 16, 2016.

Tickets for the event are $25 for adults, $10 for students, and children under 12 are free. Senior and military discounts are also available. Proceeds support the El Paso Society for Musicians of the Future and the El Paso Museum of Art.
