This El Paso Museum of Art welcomes young artists to its Art School this year during spring break.

The El Paso Museum of Art will be hosting various art camps for young artists between the ages of 6-13. Kids will learn traditional art techniques, skill development, and the opportunity to explore and experiment with their creativity.

Spring Break Art Camps

CERAMICS: March 17- 20, 2020

  • 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
  • Ages 6 - 9
  • Kids will be exploring the three basic principles of hand-building and the many facets of the craft through guided demonstrations and discussion.

DRAWING: March 17 - 20, 2020

  • 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • Ages 6 - 9
  • This camp focuses on drawing techniques, and various mediums including charcoal and graphite, with an emphasis on color pencil drawing.

FABRIC ART: March 17 - 20, 2020

  • 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
  • Ages 6 - 9
  • Kids will learn hands-on how to weave on three types of small looms, as well as bead weaving, sun printing, collage, and embroidery.

CERAMICS: March 17 - 20, 2020

  • 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • Ages 10 - 13
  • Kids will learn the basic methods of hand-building including pinch-pot, coil-construction, and participate in wheel throwing demonstrations.

MOLDING ART: March 17 - 20, 2020

  • 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • Ages 10 - 13
  • This class will have your child creating 3D objects and mini sculptures out of plaster and silicone.

PAINTING: March 17 - 20, 2020

  • 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
  • Ages 10 - 13
  • This camp will focus on composition, color theory, and painting techniques creating paintings through demonstrations, discussions, and individual guidance.
