Summer's in Texas can be brutal! Which is why it should come as no surprise that when it comes to our snacks, we know exactly how to beat the heat. Texans don't do basic snacks, and this summer it's all about cucumbers!

Cucumbers are a refreshing snack all on their own, but add a little bit of spice and you've got your new favorite summer treat. No, I'm not talking about a "pepino split" (which you can see what that is here), I'm talking about "pepinadas"!

Pepinadas, or cucumber popsicles with Chamoy and chile, are the cousin to mangonadas. Don't know what a mangonada is? It's kind of like mango sorbet, some like it slushy style and some like it frozen like a popsicle.

Whichever way you enjoy it, it's sure to help cool you cool off a bit. The best part is that you can make it yourself at home with a few simple ingredients!

This mouthwatering treat can now also be done with cucumbers! And, again, the best part is you can make it at home with simple ingredients!

The video is in Spanish, but even if you don't understand Spanish I think the video is pretty self explanatory.

Pepinadas may not be a new thing to many, but lots of people are just discovering their deliciousness through TikTok. A simple search for "pepinadas" will direct you to hundreds of videos on how to make them.

This summer, cool off with either a mangonada or a pepinada- but someone needs to let me know if it's considered a hood rat snack!
