The new Texas UIL district realignment was announced today and 19 El Paso high schools will comprise a stacked 5-A Conference featuring three districts and two divisions in football beginning later this year. Meanwhile, just six schools will compete in 6-A creating a challenging schedule with just five district games. Enrollment to qualify as a 6-A member is a minimum of 2,190 students.

By far, the toughest district in the city will be 5-A Division 1 District 1, featuring former 6-A powers Eastwood and El Dorado. They will join Eastlake, Del Valle, Chapin, and Bel Air to create an unbelievable football district. These six are the bigger high schools due to their enrollment size, which comprised of 1,840 to 2,189 students. The smaller divisions were made up of between 1,150 and 1,839 students.

For basketball, 6-A remains the same while 5-A combines into two districts instead of three. The compete list is below.
