Someone or an organization could be the new owners of the old Pan Am floor. It's the same floor that was named Feb. 9, 2002 in honor of Lou Henson, the Aggies' National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame coach. Also the same basketball court where the NMSU men's basketball team defeated the Nevada-Las Vegas Runnin' Rebels to go on and become college basketball's national champions in 1990. And the floor where NMSU won its first Western Athletic Conference men's basketball tournament title in 2007. NMSU also won the 2007 WAC volleyball championship on that floor.

The Pan Am Basketball Floor, as it's titled on the auction site Public Surplus, went out to bid on Sept. 29 and the bidding continues through 10 p.m. this Thursday. Someone has made a $1,000 bid, but NMSU Athletics is asking a minimum $5,000.
