Getting fans to the UTEP Miner football games has been a bit of a tough sell in the past few years. From a not-so-stellar fan experience to a really bad win/loss record, fans haven't been exactly flocking to the Sun Bowl for Miner football games.

This year, UTEP has decided to up their game and they are rolling out some new fun for fans who show up to the Sun Bowl. New this year the UTEP band, cheerleaders, and spirit teams will lead the way when student-athletes go to their locker room in the Larry K. Durham Sports Center after team buses drop off the Miners at the GR2 parking lot off of Glory Road. If you want to be part of the fun, go to the dropoff point at 4 p.m. on game days to cheer on the team as it starts the “Miner Walk.”

On the north concourse of Sun Bowl Stadium, adjacent to the Durham Center, you can take pictures with the new chrome pick on display there. You can buy orange kettle corn and cotton candy in Sun Bowl Stadium as part of this season's “Orange Revival” theme. Fans can also munch on gourmet hot dogs. There are macaroni and cheese and bacon, and chili, onions and cheddar cheese. Part of the "Orange Revival" theme will be orange margaritas in the all-new Party Patio on the north end zone. You can get information on season passes to the Party Patio by calling 915-747-6150, or checking out the UTEP ticket website by clicking here.

If you want to deck yourself out with orange gameday gear, the UTEP Bookstore is at 2201 Sun Bowl Drive, or you can shop online by clicking here for their website.

Kickoff for Saturday’s game is at 6 p.m. There will be #ElPasoStrong t-shirts while supplies last, courtesy of the gameday sponsor Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare.
