Netflix Casts Christian Serratos as Selena

The long awaited announcement is finally here. Vulture is reporting that Netflix has chosen Walking Dead actress Christian Serratos to play the role of Selena in the upcoming Netflix series by the same name.

The 28 year old Serratos is currently playing "Rosita Alvarez" in the Walking Dead series on AMC.  Christian Serratos, who's of Mexican and Italian decent, also had a role in the Twilight movie saga. The producers of Selena are currently in negotiations with AMC over scheduling concerns. The Walking Dead films in Atlanta. Selena will be filmed in Mexico. AMC would have to accommodate Walking Dead production to allow Serratos to travel to Mexico.  Netflix has not yet commented on the casting. Netflix announced back in December 2018 that they had teamed up with Selena's family to produce a series about Selena Quintanilla's life story. Soon after, a casting call went out to find the person who would play the lead role. El Paso modeling agency, Bazaar, even had open try outs. After many months of anticipation, the cast is finally coming together. Netflix is yet to announce a production or stream date for the series.
