Monika and UMC Urge Women To Get A Mammogram During October
Get your annual wellness mammogram for only $50.
Breast cancer awareness month is here, and University Medical Center of El Paso is making it easy and affordable to get your annual mammogram exam.
According to Breastcancer.org, a woman’s risk of breast cancer nearly doubles if she has a first-degree relative such as a mother, sister, and daughter who has been diagnosed with breast cancer, while less than 15% of women who get breast cancer have a family member diagnosed with it.
My family has a history of breast cancer, and that’s why it’s so important for me to get my annual mammogram. It's especially for the women in my family that are over the age of 40.
Early detection is key as breast cancer is sometimes only discovered after symptoms appear, but many women sometimes experience no symptoms at all. This is why the American Cancer Society strongly recommends getting regular screenings since it is the most reliable way to spot the early signs of breast cancer.
Annual mammograms are usually covered under most insurance plans, however for uninsured or self-pay individuals, University Medical Center of El Paso is offering 3D screenings and readings for only $50.
Take advantage because these $50 wellness mammograms are only available for a limited time and appointments are booking up quickly.
This October, take a few minutes to schedule this most important breast health exam – because finding breast cancer early and getting state-of-the-art cancer treatment are the foremost strategies for preventing breast cancer deaths.
