If you're an El Paso Electric customer who uses the utility company's MobilePay app, you're personal information may have been compromised.

EPE officials say whoever stole the information has customer names, address -- and more importantly -- bank account and bank routing numbers.

According to a post on the El Paso Electric website, TIO, the third-party provider of mobile payment applications, informed them on November 27, 2017 that it discovered unauthorized access to locations on the TIO network that stored personal information of some customers of TIO clients, including some El Paso Electric customers that use MobilePay.

It's important to note:

This incident only affected TIO’s network and did not involve El Paso Electric’s systems or other payment solutions in any way."

Customers identified as potentially affected in the security incident should have already received a notice in the mail from TIO. If you feel you may have overlooked the letter or would like additional information, visit the TIO website, www.tio.com, or call 1-855-272-6796.
