Boo to no splashing around, especially with record high triple digit heat that has been hitting our region, but....the splash pad may be reopening soon!

The new Metro Verde Splash pad had been shut down just after two weeks of opening. City staff posted signs around the splash pad stating that the facility would be closed until further notice. The facility was designed to handle about 40 people per day, but it’s been full from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day the park hours since it opened. This has caused some of the equipment to be worn out and some things had been broken, The sign also stated that the facility would be closed until further notice.

UPDATE: The city of Las Cruces said Tuesday that the splash pad at 7125 Metro Park St. will reopen in time for the weekend after repairs were recently completed.
