Meet Red The New El Paso International Airport Mascot

Red T. Hawk is her name and she is the new official ambassador and mascot of the El Paso International Airport.

Red, the newly appointed airport role model and ambassador has her own backstory too. According to the folks at the City of El Paso and the El Paso International Airport, Red is a former fighter pilot. She is a Red Tail Hawk, a species that is native to our region. Red is said to embody the virtues of courage, honesty, and strength. Red will also serve as an advocate of STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and aims to encourage all children to take an interest in the fields of aviation, especially young girls.

There is no word on when or where you can meet up with Red or if she will be hanging out at the airport but you most certainly want to keep an eye out the next time you are traveling in and out of El Paso and give her a big high five if you run into her and welcome her to our beautiful city.
