Here is a list of all the city offices that will be closed this Thanksgiving holiday season.

Come Thanksgiving most of us will still go to work however City of El Paso employees will have the day off on Thanksgiving day including Friday, making for a 4-day holiday weekend.

City Hall and all administrative offices will be closed on Thursday, November 28, and Friday, November 29, in observance of Thanksgiving.

Thursday, November 28, 2019 Thanksgiving Day Closures Include:

  • Animal Services Center
  • Citizen Collection Stations (CCS)
  • Greater El Paso Landfill
  • El Paso Museums (Archaeology, Art, History)
  • El Paso Zoo
  • One Stop Shop
  • All Parks and Recreation Facilities
  • All Public Health Facilities
  • All Public Library Branches

Garbage collections scheduled for November 28 and 29, will be picked up on December 2. Only gray trash bins will be collected on December 2. View collection schedule at elpasotexas.gov/ESD.

Free Sun Metro bus and Streetcar rides on Thanksgiving. All bus routes will run on the Sunday/Holiday schedule. More info at sunmetro.net.

Friday, November 29, 2019:

  • Animal Services Center – Will be open during regular hours

  • Sun Metro and Streetcar – Will resume with normal operating hours

Parks and Recreation Facilities The following facilities will be open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.:
