One of the more colorful signs it’s springtime in El Paso is when the Mexican Gold Poppies come out of hibernation and dot Castner Range in a blaze of yellow.

And there’s no better time and place to see the picturesque landscape than at the annual Poppies Fest. The free family-friendly event is scheduled for Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the El Paso Museum of Archaeology on Transmountain Road from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Live music, art vendors, educational exhibits, children's activities, nature tours, and food trucks are part of the day long event. This year's festivities will also include a live hawk encounter, a featured film inside the museum, and as an added treat, the Downtown Art and Farmers Market and all its vendors will close up shop downtown and move to the museum grounds for the day.

Parking

Parking is not allowed at the museum. Instead you’re asked to park for free at Cohen Stadium, lot #1. Free shuttle service will be provided to and from the museum.
