One of the more colorful signs springtime has arrived is right around the corner.

It's called Poppies Fest, and the El Paso Museum of Archaeology has announced that this year's celebration of the Mexican poppies that blanket Castner Range this time of the year is set for Saturday, March 21. And on a good year there is no better time and place to see such a picturesque landscape.

Although specific activities and an event schedule haven’t been announced, it typically consists of live music, art vendors, educational exhibits, nature tours, a featured film inside the museum, and food trucks. I’ll have more details as the event gets closer, but for now save the date. Admission to the family-friendly event continues to be free.
