Some El Paso teachers are getting a fundraising boost just in time for back to school thanks to Lady Gaga.

The music superstar announced that her Born This Way Foundation will be fully funding all classroom projects from El Paso listed on the teacher crowdfunding website Donors Choose as a way to honor the victims of the mass shooting. If a project had already been partially funded, Gaga’s foundation made up the difference.

"In this moment, I want to channel my confusion, frustration, and fury into hope. Hope that we are there for each other and for ourselves," Gaga posted on Facebook.

She added that her nonprofit was partnering with Donors Choose to give a total of 160 classrooms in the three cities most recently affected by a mass shooting the resources needed to start the school year.

"14 classrooms in Dayton, 125 classrooms in El Paso, and 23 classrooms in Gilroy will now have access to the support they need to inspire their students to work together and bring their dreams to life," she wrote.

Donors Choose is a website where teachers from all over America post classroom project requests and donors can give any amount to the one they wanted to support. The site vets all requests, purchases the items, and ships them directly to the teacher.
