Jalisco Cafe Giving Out Free Books & Raspas this Fourth of July!
As if this Segundo Barrio restaurant wasn't iconic enough, this Fourth of July Jalisco Café will be hosting their sixth annual "Jalisco Café Segundo Barrio Books & Raspas Giveaway"! After a year of no events and no book and raspa giveaway, Jalisco Café is welcoming back the community to join in on this event that is set to be bigger than ever!
Jalisco Cafe has partnered up with Books Santo Nino de Atocha, El Paso's non-profit book society. There will be books for the entire family, free to take home as well as a complimentary raspa- perfect for the holiday weekend!
Because they're returning back this year after the pandemic hiatus, Jalisco Café is looking for volunteers to help with the book and to be "Segundo Barrio Raspateers"! They are also looking for some talent to perform at the event. Located at 1029 E. 7th Ave., this event is open to all El Paso families. You can find out more about it here. You're also going to want to head inside for some delicious food because I cannot recommend this place enough. Jalisco Cafe is a great place to support local as they give back to the community every chance they can from this Fourth of July event to the free Thanksgiving meals they give out.
My mom had won the "free menudo" contest back in 2019 and she made it a weekend tradition to go and enjoy her free menudo. I, of course would occasionally accompany her and the food is amazing! Thank you to everyone at the Jalisco Cafe for the amazing service and food! It really does make you feel like you're at your abuelitas house.
