If You Have A Keurig Coffee Machine Here’s How To Clean It [VIDEO]

I have a Keurig at my house that I bought about 6 years ago and recently I noticed that it is brewing pretty slowly. It takes forever for a cup to brew and I was thinking that maybe I was going to need to buy a new machine. I read a news story this week about Keurig owners who are finding mold in their machines when they take them apart to clean and thought, great, I am drinking moldy coffee.

It used to be in the old days of Mr. Coffee machines you just ran a couple of carafes of vinegar through the brew cycle and then flushed with another couple of brew cycles with clean water and voila, clean machine that ran just like when it was new. I've never tried to clean my Keurig with vinegar because I wasn't sure I could, but I did find the video above that shows you how to take one apart to clean it.

The video suggests a cleaning solution but it turns out you can use vinegar in your Keurig. Just use a full reservoir of half water/half vinegar solution and run it through your machine. You should run another 2 - 3 reservoirs of water through just to thoroughly flush the vinegar.
