How Do Artists Get Nominated for a Grammy?

Ever wondered how your favorite artists get nominated for a Grammy?

The 59^th Annual Grammy Awards will be taking place this Sunday, February 12th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and we can expect nothing less than a spectacle featuring performances by Adele, Beyonce, Bruno Mars, The Weeknd, and many others slated to appear. So that got us thinking, just how do these artists get nominated for a Grammy?

The Grammy’s are issued out by a 21,000 voting community membership. According to The Recording Academy, the industry which is composed of producers, singers, musicians, and the whole lot vote on up to 15 categories.

Basically, the nominations are not based on popularity, record, digital or any sales instead votes are judged by their peers in the indusrty and are based on being the best in their genre.

Come Sunday we’ll know who takes the well deserved gold phonograph home.
