The EPFD and MDA have been getting together to fight muscular dystrophy for 60 years, and this year is no different. Their annual 'Fill the Boot' fundraising campaign benefits kids and adults affected by muscle disease throughout the El Paso area.

Members of the El Paso Fire Department Local 51 will fan out across the city with boots for this year’s drive from May 16th through May 26th. The money raised will help support MDA's programs of worldwide research, specialized health care services, and day-to-day support – which includes sending kids affected by muscular dystrophy and related diseases to a weeklong, barrier-free MDA summer camp at the Manzano Mountain Retreat in Torreon, New Mexico.

The MDA offers not only help to those who are suffering from muscle diseases, but education and public awareness, as well. Please head over to the MDA El Paso & Southern New Mexico Rio Grande Chapter Facebook page for information about their activities and upcoming events!

The Fill The Boot drive begins this Friday, so please be generous and help those affected by muscular dystrophy have a brighter future!
