Fungi Mungle is going to help you get the weekend started this Thursday, September 2, at Cool Canyon Nights. Disco down to the groovy sounds of the band that put the fun in funk and the boogie in oogie.

El Paso's most popular band will be whipping up the usual Frenzy of Fun® with all the booty bumpin' music you know and love with one notable difference.

Because the recent rains washed out the roads leading up to the McKelligon Canyon Amphitheater leaving debris in its wake and making it dangerous for vehicle traffic, the coolest free music series in town is now taking place at the Convention Center Plaza downtown for its remaining dates.

Other than the venue change, everything else remains the same; gates open at 5:30 p.m., the music starts at 6 p.m. with live music on the El Paso Community College Patio Stage, and craft beer, cocktails, and food trucks to quench your thirst and hunger. Fungi Mungle gets underway at approximately 7:15.

Cool Canyon Nights is free and seating is on a first-come basis. You can bring a fold-out chair for seating at the Convention Center Plaza
