Freedom Crossing will be putting the free in freedom this Veterans Day weekend.

The open air shopping center on Ft. Bliss will be hosting its fifth Freedom Fest Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 9-10, 2019. The free 2-day event will feature carnival rides and games, multiple live bands, a petting zoo, magicians and many other family-friendly activities, according to the event post.

Additionally, each day's festivities will end with a fireworks show.

And here’s the best part: admission is free, all activities are free, and all the entertainment is free. Pretty much all you have to pay for is what you want to eat and drink.

Freedom Fest is not just for soldiers and their families. We're all welcome, and a pass is not required to get on base provided you enter through the Buffalo Soldier (by Airport) or Cassidy gates.

There will be what's known as "ease of access" at both gates between 1:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9th and 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 10th, according to Tristian Robinson, Marketing Manager for Freedom Crossing at Fort Bliss.

"This means that civilians will be able to access the installation with a valid state issued ID without having to get a visitors pass," said Robinson via email.
