Free Mother’s Day Concerts in El Paso: Mariachi Los Arrieros, Sunny Ozuna
More shots in more arms and the continuation of the safe practices like mask wearing means Mother’s Day 2021 will be celebrated more like 2019 than the virtual way most of us had to settle for last year.
This year, you can actually spend some quality time with the woman who gave you life and even take her places. These are two free-to-see in-person events worth checking out this weekend.
The City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department is hosting an outdoor concert in the park on Saturday, and Speaking Rock Entertainment is putting on a show featuring El Paso favorite Sunny Ozuna.
City Parks and Rec Mother’s Day Celebration
Mother’s Day isn't until Sunday, but that doesn't mean you can’t honor thy mother one day earlier.
The Mother's Day Celebration Concert will be Saturday, May 8, at Memorial Park, 1701 N. Copia. It will be in the Reserve Area, which is the section of the park the city has been hosting Art in the Park at for years.
The free outdoor concert will start with performances by local groups Siluetas Band, La Sonora Magiztral and Dueto Corazon Latino, and end the way an El Paso-style Mother’s Day should: with mariachis.
Mariachi Los Arrieros, which has performed all over El Paso and the U.S., and shared the stage with the likes of Vicente Fernandez, Pepe Aguilar, and many others, will cap off the night.
Here’s what else you need to know if you plan to go see the show:
