Over 1,600 new COVID-19 cases were reported in El Paso last week, including a whopping 358 on Sunday (10/4), the most in a single day since early July. With the county seeing a surge once again, health officials encourage everyone to take advantage of no-cost tests being offered this week, Oct. 5 - Oct. 12.

The testing is open to any resident of El Paso County, with tests administered at a handful of county sites and three locations inside El Paso city limits. The nasal swabs continue to be conducted by the state contractor, HONU, inside city limits and by the Texas Military Department Mobile Testing Team in the county's rural communities. Testing is available to anyone 5 years or older with or without symptoms.
