Your taste buds now have another tasty fast food option the next time you’re in Northwest El Paso. Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is now serving it up just off N. Desert Blvd. in the West Town Marketplace.

Revered by so-called "Fredheads" nationwide for its custard treats, steakburgers, and crispy shoestring fries, the new freestanding restaurant seats 92 and has additional seating on the patio. Drive-thru service, delivery and mobile ordering through their app are also options.

The Original Double and the Signature Turtle Sundae are two of the most raved-about items on its menu, and people really dig the hot dogs, too. Discover your own favorite 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

This is the second El Paso location for the retro-style custard and burger chain following the location on the Far East that opened last September at 1860 N. Zaragosa along the busy stretch of road between Saul Kleinfeld and Montwood, next to the road that takes you into the Walmart Supercenter.

There’s also a Freddy’s in Las Cruces at 604 S. Telshor across from Mesilla Valley Mall. Nationwide, there are over 360 Freddy's restaurants in 33 states.

Oh, and in case you're wondering, Freddy was a real person. Frederick “Freddy” L. Simon, a decorated U.S. Army Veteran of WW II, passed away in 2020 at the age of 95. His sons co-founded the restaurant along with their friend in 2002, and named it in his honor.
