The El Paso Fire Department will fly all Fire Station flags at half-staff on Sunday Oct. 12, 2014 in honor of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service.

President Obama called on all Americans to participate in this observance with appropriate programs and activities and by renewing their efforts to prevent fires and their tragic consequences.

Therefore, in honor of Fire Prevention Week, members of the Fire Department will be joining forces with El Paso Environmental Services, El Paso Police and the American Red Cross in this year’s Pride Day on Saturday Oct. 11, 2014.

The city-wide event takes place once a year at over 50 locations. EPFD will be at the Chihuahuita Senior Center, the Leona Ford Recreation Center, Yucca Park, Old Pueblo Park, 350 Coates Dr. and 8900 Robert Dr.

As citizens clean up their neighborhood, members of the El Paso Fire Department will deliver important fire prevention messages and offer homeowners free smoke alarm installations, home safety surveys and evacuation plans.
