Fans Spot NE Patriots Plane At El Paso International Airport

Fans of the New England Patriots are doing a double-take after spotting the team's plane on the tarmac at the El Paso International Airport.

The New England Patriot team may not be in El Paso, but their plane is.

El Pasoans took to social media after spotting the New England Patriots plane and wondered why it was in town.

According to KVIA, a spokesperson for the team told them that the Patriots plane “arrived at the El Paso International Airport earlier this week for a domestic Department of Defense (DOD) transport.”

The team owns two former American Airlines Boeing 767-300ERs typically used for team travel throughout the football season, but often loans them out during the off-season, so they don't sit around collecting dust.

Both planes have been used for commercial air travel via Eastern Airlines in the past. And last year, during the raging pandemic, the team donated one of its private jets to pick up over a million N95 supply masks in China to distribute to area hospitals in the frontline effort against COVID-19.

We're not sure how long the plane will stick around; however, El Paso fans of the New England Patriots can get a glimpse of the aircraft currently parked at the El Paso International Airport.

The impressive red, white, and blue plane features a logo that reads “6X Champs” on the sides of the aircraft with a Patriot on top, along with the added detail of six Lombardi Trophies on the tail end of the plane.
