Famous “The Room” Actor Greg Sestero Making New Movie in El Paso

The Room is regarded as a cult classic; it's become one of those movies that gets talked about in the "it's so bad it's good" category. But it's gained such a huge following, you can't help but love it. One of the actors that El Paso, Texas is VERY aware of, from The Room, is Greg Sestero.

We remembered the last time Greg was here in El Paso

Back in 2019 he appeared for a very special screening of The Room at Alamo Drafthouse. Earlier this year he was seen at The El Paso Media Fest promoting his new film.

After the show, Greg wasn't done here in El Paso

Greg spent way more time in El Paso than we originally had thought. As it turns out, Greg Sestero teamed up with local filmmaker Chris Hanna of ZGN Productions for an upcoming mini film titled "On The Edge of Freedom".

Chris is the producer/director of the Tony Romo documentary Now or Never & The Art of a Cowboy based on the works of Steve Baldwin.

What's the movie about?

The story follows an actor who finds himself in trouble with the law as his lifestyle of debauchery finally catches up with him. He is given an opportunity to start over when his lawyer recommends he attend a recovery ranch to treat his substance abuse. It is there he finds a mentor, played by Sestero, who helps him learn how to view the world in a new light.

Chris & his crew started filming back in January in Socorro & Hico, Texas. No release date for On The Edge of Freedom has been announced yet however Chris has said that filming IS complete and they're looking for a Summer 2023 release. I know from talking to Chris that he's very excited working with Greg Sestero and we look forward to seeing the movie when it comes out.
