EPSYO Hosting Annual Concerto Competition

Calling all musicians to try out at this year’s El Paso Symphony Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition.

The El Paso Symphony Youth Orchestra returns with its annual Concerto Competition on Monday, January 20, 2020.

The application deadline is Monday, January 13, 2020, and is open to all musicians up to the age of 22.

ELIGIBILITY:

• Must be 22 years of age or younger as of January 20, 2020.
• Previous winners are not eligible to compete on the same instrument for the same prize(s) they have already won.

PRIZES:

• Grand Prize: One winner will be selected to perform with the El Paso Symphony Orchestra on the Side by Side Concert on March 29, 2020, at the Plaza Theatre.
• EPSYO's Prize: One current EPSYO student will be selected to perform with one of the EPSYO orchestras at either the 2019-2020 Season Finale Concert on May 17, 2020, or another predetermined concert.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

• Mail application form to EPSYO, PO Box 180, El Paso, TX 79942 or scan and email to info@epsyos.org
• The application must be received by Monday, January 13, 2020
• Must enclose a $40 application fee
• The fee is waived for currently enrolled EPSYO members

All applicants will be notified of their audition time and location by email on or before Wednesday, January 15, 2020.

Applicants and accompanists should plan to be available from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM on the day of the competition which will be held on Monday, January 20, 2020, at the University Presbyterian Church located at 244 N. Resler in West El Paso.
