What is it about clowns that some find the terrifying? Some find them just a little creepy and then there are some who have "coulrophobia"- which is a fear of clowns.

Okay, so maybe the picture above is a bit extreme. But even the innocent birthday party clowns, or even the circus clowns, seem a bit scary. Whatever the deciding factor is for you- I will agree that sometimes clowns give me the heebie jeebies!

As we near spooky season, I'm reminded about that weird time in 2016 where there were all these reports of clown sightings across the country. The first sighting turned out to be a stunt to promote a horror film- however, as sightings expanded, some turned malicious!

Luckily for us in El Paso, there were really no clown sightings here. However, I do remember the clown hysteria got to me, and for a moment there, I was convinced that I would get a clown sighting! It never happened, but there were certain places I'd go by where I thought "this is it, a clown is going to get me!" places like:

Missouri, under the I-10 W bridge.

I've been stuck in this area before, AT NIGHT! It's spooky can totally see a scary clown hiding in the underpass.

This area has always scared me! Growing up in the Northeast, there weren't many places in the area that creeped me out, except this intersection!

This area of the West side is nice. The West Towne Marketplace is there, and it looks innocent. Which is exactly the last place you'd think you'd run into a clown!

Am I too paranoid? Perhaps, and then I see TikToks like this and I get scared all over again!
