El Paso’s Arrested News Anchor: Whereabouts Unknown, Viewers Left Wondering

Regular viewers of the KFOX14 9 o’clock evening news have noticed co-anchor Robert Holguin has been going at it alone lately.

I’m not complaining, that man is easy on the eyes, but viewers have been wondering where Erika Castillo is.

The long-time anchor has not been on air since she was booked on charges of criminal mischief in late April. A regular on social media, she has gone silent on the platform as well, leaving viewers to speculate about her employment status and if her recent arrest is the reason for her absence.

Criminal Complaint

The news anchor became the news when, according to the complaint affidavit obtained by a competing television news station, Castillo allegedly went to the unidentified man’s home in an effort to collect a car title she claimed her husband, Shawn Bryan, was owed.

Erika S. Bryan (her married name) is accused of driving onto the victim’s front lawn and steps and damaging them. The plaintiff told police the incident stems from a years-long dispute with Mr. Bryan over an unspecified business dealing that clearly went sour.

Caught on Camera

The incident was captured on the home security camera and shared on the Instagram account FitFam.

In the video, which may have been edited, Castillo appears to try to cover up the camera lens at one point and can be heard accusing the man she went to go see of “stealing money from us” and “playing a very dangerous game.”

So, why is Erika MIA from KFOX? Is she on administrative leave? Laying low on vacation somewhere? Is she even still employed with KFOX? Don’t look at me, I don’t know either. Those are what you call rhetorical questions.

I reached out to station management for answers, but all I got was the usual one sentence cop-out "not at liberty to discuss personnel matters" reply.

I will say it's unusual for a news anchor to be gone this long. Keep an eye on the station "Meet Our Team" section. If her bio is gone in the next few days, that means so is she.
