El Paso Texas Anchor Booked on Criminal Mischief No Longer with Station
Cha-cha-cha-changes at El Paso's KFOX 14 news after prime time co-host Erika Castillo was booked on charges of criminal mischief on April 27.
By all accounts, the news station and their longtime news anchor have uncoupled. It's believed her run-in with the law prompted the change.

'Playing a Very Dangerous Game'
According to the complaint affidavit obtained by a competing television news station, Erika S. Bryan (her married name) is accused of driving onto an unidentified man's front lawn and steps damaging them in the process.
Castillo allegedly went to the man’s home demanding money she claimed her husband, Shawn Bryan, was owed. The plaintiff told police the matter stems from a dispute with Mr. Bryan over an unspecified business dealing.
The incident, which happened in 2021, was captured by the man's home security camera and was recently shared on the Instagram account FitFam. In the video, Castillo can be heard accusing the man she went to go see of “stealing money from us” and “playing a very dangerous game.”
The lead anchor turned herself in on April 27, 2023, and was booked and released on charges of criminal mischief the same evening.
No Longer With the News Station
Since the booking, Castillo has been off the air and won't be returning. Multiple sources say a one-sentence email stating Erika was no longer employed by the station was sent to staffers late last week. It was not made clear if Castillo was let go or resigned.
I reached out to KFOX for comment but have not received a reply. However, her bio disappeared from the news station's Meet Our Team section over the weekend and her KFOX-branded Facebook account has been deactivated.
Robert Holguin is going at it solo while the station begins its search for a new 5 and 9 p.m. co-anchor.
