Video of El Paso Zoo Lioness ‘Playfully Swiping’ Child Featured on ‘Today’ Show

An adorable video of an El Paso Zoo lioness "playfully swiping" at an equally adorable toddler was featured on NBC's Today show on Wednesday morning.

Although it looks like the lioness wants nothing more than to make a snack out of the cute kid, Zoo spokesperson Karla Martinez told TODAY.com, "She was just trying to play. The baby is safe behind a really thick window, which is made so that visitors can see the animals up close."

The video of Zari's up-close encounter was filmed by El Paso Zoo Education Curator Rick LoBello.
