El Paso Zoo Hosting Free Drive Thru Flu Shot Event This Tuesday
El Pasoans can take advantage of the free drive-thru flu shot event at the El Paso Zoo on Tuesday, September 13, 2022.
The “Be PowerFlu” prevention campaign will offer free flu shots this week with a drive-thru event at the El Paso Zoo.
The summer season will end by September 22, and as we near colder weather and flu season, the flu prevention campaign aims to save lives by urging the El Paso community to receive their vaccinations this year.
Beginning Tuesday morning, the City of El Paso Department of Public Health, the Fire Department, and partnering agencies will offer free flu shots during the Be Powerflu event at the El Paso Zoo parking lot.
Listen to Monika middays all week on 93.1 KISS-FM and download our free 93.1 KISS-FM App.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend that everyone two years and older receive a flu shot yearly.
Prevention is vital as flu-related hospitalizations can overwhelm hospitals needing to keep rooms available for those treated for COVID-19 infections and other serious illnesses.
Flu shots will be administered via drive-thru free of charge to El Paso residents with no appointment or insurance needed. Attendees will also receive a free Be POWERflu sticker and a chance to win some great prizes.
