El Paso Sheriff’s Department Is on the Hunt for A Missing Sex Offender

El Paso County sheriff’s deputies say a convicted child molester cut off his ankle monitor and is on the run.

50-year-old Cody Gibbs was living at the El Paso Transitional Center in Horizon when he took off without permission earlier this week. Sheriff's deputies say his last known location was at University Medical Center where it is believed Gibbs cut his ankle monitor off.

Gibbs was convicted of indecency by sexual contact with an 8-year-old girl. He is wanted on a parole violation.
Deputies describe Gibbs as being 5 feet 5 inches tall, 188 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. If you have any information on Gibbs, you are asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 546-2280.
