El Paso Police Will Be Targeting Speeders This Weekend
Don't you hate it when you're driving and you see some yahoo speeding down the street? It freaks you out a little bit because one wrong move, and there will be an accident, and you might be caught up in it. Where the hell are the police, you mutter to yourself as Speedy McSpeedster goes zipping by you. Well, relax, grandma, because help is on the way.
The El Paso Police Department is doing traffic surges throughout the city in hopes of reducing accidents because of speeding. They conducted a surge on Transmountain this week because of complaints about speeding and other traffic violations in that area.
The surge works, apparently. On Wednesday alone, police gave 162 tickets to drivers, and most of those were on Transmountain. Police will continue to put multiple units in one area while they continue conducting traffic surges every other week to help make our streets safer.
