Allergy season is in full bloom, and as some of us sniffle our way through spring, El Paso gets listed among the worst cities to live for allergy sufferers and the third Texas city overall.

Windy weather has been very active this year in the Sun City, spreading dust and pollen everywhere and affecting allergy sufferers across the city. And while we're used to suffering from allergies year-round, a new report by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) has confirmed what we've known for years: El Paso is one of the worst places to live for allergy sufferers.

For someone who suffers from severe allergies, the following tips have worked like magic for me– especially after following a daily routine of taking apple cider vinegar and local honey.

Of course, as with all dietary supplements, make sure you check with your doctor before taking anything regularly, as all bodies and medical histories vary.

Tips To Help Ease Seasonal Allergies

  • Wash Hands & Face Often: Wash your face and hands after being outside to help to remove pollen.
  • Change Out Clothing: Change your clothing after being outdoors - this will limit the amount of pollen that you bring indoors to your home.
  • Wear Sunglasses: Wearing sunglasses has many benefits, including shielding pollen from your eyes.
  • Take An Extra Shower: Taking a shower in the morning before beginning the day and after you've been out will help minimize pollen transferring onto your bedding.
  • Apple Cider Vinegar: I am a big believer in apple cider vinegar. It boasts many health benefits and will also help keep allergies at bay. I take a shot's worth of apple cider vinegar diluted in a cup of water every morning and before bed.
  • Local Honey: Local honey produced in and around El Paso may help prevent allergies because it helps to develop a tolerance to the pollen prevalent in our area. You can even mix it with apple cider vinegar to make it easier to drink.
