El Paso is under a Flash Flood Watch until 8 a.m. Saturday. If you are in a flood prone area, here is where you can get free sandbags to help protect your home.


El Paso Water Utilities and Dona Ana County have set up sites around El Paso County to distribute the free sandbags. There is a limit of 15 bags per EPWU customer.

In El Paso, the sites are:

Sat – Sun, 2 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Mon – Sun, 2 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Album Park
Corner of Wedgewood Drive and Lockerbie Ave.
Mon – Sun, 2 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Lower Valley
Blackie Chesher Park
9292 Escobar Drive
Mon – Sun, 2 p.m. – 8 p.m.

In Socorro, you can get sand bags at the Socorro Recycling Center, Old Hueco Tanks Rd. & Moon Rd.

In Dona Ana County, all 16 volunteer fire districts have sandbags to give out on a first come, first serve basis. There is a limit of 10 sandbags per residence or business.

Sandbags go fast this time of year, so you’ll want to get to one of these sites as soon as possible.
