Star-Spangled Showdown – El Paso Chihuahuas Will Play First-Ever 4th of July Home Game

Few things are more American than baseball, hot dogs, and a fireworks display.

And this Fourth of July, patriotic baseball fans can partake in all three as the El Paso Chihuahuas are playing their first-ever home game on July 4th.

In ten seasons the team has never hosted a ball game on Independence Day so this is kind of a historical event. Nowhere near as historic as the Second Continental Congress ratifying the Declaration of Independence and establishing the United States of America on July 4, 1776, but it’s history nonetheless.

Star-Spangled Showdown

The July 4th game is the first of a six-game home-stand against the Las Vegas Aviators for the C-dogs, and there is going to be fireworks both on the field and after the game.

Post-game fireworks are arguably the El Paso Chihuahuas’ most popular recurring promotional night.

A crowd favorite since the early days of Diablos baseball, the Chihuahuas will continue the popular tradition with a big and bright Independence Day Celebration that will light up the night sky with an extended fireworks display set to patriotic music.

And because it’s all about America's birth day, the team will be wearing their Stars & Stripes jerseys and baseball cap.
