It’s going to be a Stars and Stripes 4th of July at Ascarate Park.

El Paso County is celebrating Independence Day with food trucks, swimming, and an aerial firework display over the lake. There’s going to be a lot going on, so let me break it down.

The fireworks display will have you oohing and awing as you watch the sky light up and the rampart’s red glare reflected on the lake surface. Start time is approximately 9:20 p.m.

Park Hours & Parking

Park hours on the Fourth will be 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. with July 4th activities beginning at noon.

Parking will be $5 per vehicle (cash only), and no charge for those who walk in the park. The vehicle capacity will be capped at 2,000 cars “to ensure traffic safety.”
