There is nothing like a pet especially if you are in a town that isn't your hometown or if you need a friend.

This Friday through Monday, El Paso Animal Services wants to help veterans get a pet with their Pets for Vets adoption event. Veterans and their families, active duty military, and first responders will be able to adopt a pet for free form the El Paso Animal Services Shelter.

Animal Services officials say they hope the Veterans’ Day event can forge a connection between families of the men and women who keep our country safe and shelter pets. These brave first responders deserve the love of a pet and during the Pets for Vets event they can take advantage of the free adoption.

Not only will you get a pet but all adoptions include the animal’s spay/neuter procedure, initial age-appropriate vaccinations, a microchip for your pet, and City license.

The Animal Services Shelter is always working to get the doggos and kitties in their shelter into forever homes, so if you are looking for a pet, don't shop, adopt. These are animals who need a warm, loving home and you'll walk out knowing that you're giving a deserving pet a second chance at a happy family and life.
